Freedom of Information Office
Welcome
The Regulations extending the Freedom of Information Act 1997 to the University were signed on 22nd October 2001. The Regulations are effective from 1st October 2001.
The Freedom of Information (Amendment) Act 2003, as passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas, was signed into law on Friday 11 April 2003. Click here to view the new Act.
The Act had effect on and from 11 April 2003.
The Freedom of Information Act impacts to some extent on many aspects of University life. In order to ensure that the University can meet its obligations under the Act a Freedom of Information Office was established. The office is also responsible for assisting students, staff and the public in exercising their rights under the Freedom of Information Act

Síníodh na Rialacháin a leathnaíonn an tAcht um Shaoráil Faisnéise 1997 chuig an Ollscoil an 22ú Deireadh Fómhair 2001. Tá héifeacht leis na Rialacháin ón 1ú Deireadh Fómhair 2001. Síníodh an tAcht um Shaoráil Faisnéise (Leasú) 2003, mar a cheadaigh an Dáil agus an Seanad i dTithe an Oireachtais, ina dhlí Dé hAoine 11 Aibreán 2003. Cliceáil anseo chun féachaint ar an Acht nua.
Bhí éifeacht leis an Acht an 11 Aibreán 2003 agus ón dáta sin.
Tá tionchar éigin ag an Acht um Shaoráil Faisnéise ar go leor gnéithe de shaol na hOllscoile. Chun a chinntiú go gcomhlíonfaidh an Ollscoil a cuid dualgas faoin Acht, bunaíodh Oifig um Shaoráil Faisnéise. Tá an Oifig freagrach as cuidiú le mic léinn, leis an bhfoireann agus leis an bpobal a gcearta a chleachtadh faoin Acht um Shaoráil Faisnéise freisin.
